Hemingway's Old man and the sea needs no reviews, its an eternal story. Guy Harvey's line drawings do add another dimension, a very visual one to the caribbean setting of the story. Not only are the sketches of the fish delightfully accurate and lifelike, the sketches of the markets, palm trees and the old man straining backwards with the fishing line taut at first bite are all wonderfully rendered. I got to see this book from a friend who grew up in the Florida Keys, and who had this book since childhood. Every right hand page haqs a fullsize sketch, and the left page has the story written in big type, very suitable for kids too, from 2nd or 3rd grade onwards for their reading assignments.
