Blackfin Tuna occur in tropical and warm temperate waters of the western Atlantic from North Carolina to Brazil including the Gulf of Mexico.  This is a pelagic schooling fish that often feeds near the surface.  Blackfin tuna are most valuable to sport fishermen, and are taken by wide variety of fishing methods.  The All-Tackle I.G.F.A.
