Striped Bass Mounts.  The Striped Bass or Rockfish occurs in the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico and in the Pacific from Washington to California, where they were introduced in the late 1800's.  Striped bass are easily identified by the 7 or 8 horizontal black stripes that run along every other scale row starting on the upper back and going down.  Striped bass have been known as an important food fish since the early 1600's.  The I.G.F.A.
